Gayduo Duyann serves as the Financial Manager at the Liberia Carbon Credit and Development Company, where she holds the position of an Accountant.
With eight (8) years of experience in the financial sector, she has held roles as both a Branch and Area Accountant at Brac Liberia. Brac Liberia specializes in microfinance and alternative livelihoods programs within Liberia. She also served as a Project Account Officer at the National Union of Community Forestry Development Committees (NUCFDCs) from 2021 to 2023.
Gayduo's educational background includes an Associate of Arts Degree (AA) in accounting from the Booker Washington Institute (BWI) in Kakata. Additionally, she has earned several certificates in the field.
Currently, Gayduo is a junior student at the African Methodist Episcopal University (AMEU), pursuing a major in accounting with a particular focus on management.
Her passion lies in establishing effective management systems, with a strong commitment to enhancing internal control procedures, ensuring accuracy, transparency, accountability, meticulous record-keeping, and proper document filing.
Peter T. Dorbor is a seasoned Agriculturist and Agronomist with an impressive track record of over two decades in Agronomy. He currently serves as the Chief Agriculture Technician at the Liberia Carbon Credit Development and Trading Company.
Previously, he held the position of Founder and CEO at Support Humanity Against the Destruction of the Environment (SHADE) Liberia, and he is currently dedicated to the establishment of the Africa Trade Foundation. During his decade-long tenure at SHADE, Peter played a pivotal role in overseeing the successful implementation of numerous biodiversity restoration and conservation projects, including the notable "Grow Monrovia Green" and "Plant Trees to Protect our Environment."
Peter's commitment to environmental conservation goes beyond his professional roles. He initiated various self-sustaining projects, such as operating his tree nurseries and supplying tree seedlings to numerous communities and schools in Lofa, actively promoting tree planting as a means to protect the environment.
Peter earned an Associate of Arts (AA) Degree in Agriculture from the Booker Washington Institute (BWI) back in 1989. Additionally, he has accumulated several certificates, further enhancing his expertise in the field.
Peter's unwavering passion for preserving a green environment, restoring and conserving biodiversity, and enhancing ecosystems has consistently driven him to dedicate his time and energy to environmental advocacy. He collaborates with communities to promote biodiversity conservation, foster climate-resilient landscapes, and improve livelihoods.
Professor John T. Woods brings a vast wealth of experience in Forestry Development and Management. During his tenure at the University of Liberia, he served as the Associate Dean of the William R. Tolbert Jr. College of Agriculture and Forestry, and as the Technical Advisor to the President of the University of Liberia.
Prior to joining the University, Mr. Woods served as Managing Director of the Forestry Development Authority where he oversaw the management of 4.8 million hectares of forests and designed policies for harvesting forest resources under concession agreements with the Government of Liberia. He developed various programs focused on sustainable forestry policies, management of wildlife, development of plantations and exotic flora species, and forest sector reforms.
During his impressive career, Mr. Woods also held prominent positions as In-Country Coordinator, Liberia Forest Initiative, METI, Inc. (2004 – 2006); Consultant, Regional Bureau for Africa, UNDP, New York (1999); Director of Projects, Economic Community of West African States (1985 – 1994); and Coordinator, Concessions Secretariat, Ministry of Finance, Republic of Liberia (1972 – 1977). He holds a Master of Arts Degree in Natural Resource Economics from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver and a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from the University of Kentucky.
Andrew Y. Y. Zelemen, an Agriculturist and Forester, boasts a decade of experience in community forestry and alternative livelihoods development. Presently serving as the Officer in Charge/General Manager of the Liberia Carbon Credit and Development Company, Zelemen previously held the role of head of the Secretariat/National Facilitator of the National Union of Community Forestry Development Committees (NUCFDCs) starting in 2016. During his impactful seven-year tenure with the NUCFDCs, he orchestrated operational strategies that significantly elevated the group's standing in the Liberia Forestry Sector. Notably, he spearheaded project management teams overseeing the successful implementation of various community projects supported by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (UN FAO) from 2018 to 2023.
Zelemen's academic background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in General Agriculture from Cuttington University, complemented by several certificates.
His unwavering commitment lies in championing environmental causes and collaborating with communities to safeguard biodiversity, fortify climate-resilient landscapes, and enhance livelihoods.
Mr. Joseph P. Keller is a former Diplomat whose career has spanned across five decades serving in various capacities in Liberia, Switzerland, the Far East and throughout the world. During his influential career, he served as Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Liberian International Ship and Corporate Registry (LISCR, LLC).
Prior to joining LISCR, Mr. Keller served as the Commissioner of the Liberia Bureau of Maritime Affairs. Under his leadership, the Maritime Bureau became one of Liberia’s largest revenue generating entities, generating over $40M in revenues annually through the registration and flagging of shipping vessels under the Liberian registry. He served as a member of the Liberian delegations to the United Nations conferences on the Law of the Seas, and the UNCTAD meetings on the registration of ships. He was also the Director of Domestic Trade at the Liberian Ministry of Commerce and Deputy Commissioner of Maritime Affairs, Ministry of Finance.
Mr. Keller developed his interest in protecting the oceans and marine ecosystems while attending a Marine Environment Protection Committee Meeting in London, England, held by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), a United Nations agency that works to prevent ocean and marine pollution caused by ships. He has now broadened his focus to include the protection and preservation of Liberia’s forests by collaborating with various communities to effectively manage carbon emissions in their forests. Mr. Keller spearheaded the reactivation of the Liberia Maritime Training Institute and served as Governor of the International Maritime Law Institute in Malta in 1991. He holds a Master of Public Administration from the City University of New York, NY; a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from Cuttington University, Suakoko, Bong County; and UNCTAD Training in Shipping, Economics and Management. In 2019, Mr. Keller was conferred the Grade of Grand Band Order of the Star of Africa for his enormous contributions to the Cause of Humanity and especially to the people of Liberia.
Jesse B. Kaiyeepu is an experienced administrator with a proven track record of providing comprehensive administrative support to senior-level managers in various sectors, including corporate, international non-governmental organizations, and academia. He possesses a strong background in information technology, specializing in computer software and networking. His skill set encompasses research, financial record preparation, project management, and reporting.
While serving as an administrative officer at the William R. Tolbert, Jr. College of Agriculture and Forestry, where agriculture and forestry courses are offered, and collaborating with Professor John T. Woods as a Junior Consultant on the preparation of gazettement packages for Protected Areas management in Liberia, Jesse developed a keen interest in sustainable natural resource management.
He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration from the University of Liberia and possesses certifications in Biodiversity Data Mobilization and Usage, Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Free Informed Consent, Human Rights, and Corporate Social Responsibility.
Gerald F.B. Cooper has worked in the Maritime Industry for his entire professional life. He started his career in 1972 at the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Maritime Affairs of Liberia in New York, NY and served as Maritime Commissioner from 1975 through 1980. During his tenure, he successfully engaged in the 1973 International Convention for the Prevention of Marine Pollution from ships (the “MARPOL” Treaty), and the MARPOL Protocol convention that was implemented in 1978 to prevent the dumping of ballast water from ships into the open seas.
During the 1980s, he worked at the Baltic Exchange and was an active member of the International Maritime Industries Forum (IMIF) that supported his initiative to establish the first ship breaking and recycling industry in Monrovia. During the 1990s he established the INMARSAT service provider and ships communication activation company Monrovia Communication Corporation (MONCOM). He was Liberia's representative to the International Maritime Organization from 1997 to 1999. His maritime consultancy company has provided Executive Consultant services to the Liberian International Ship and Corporate Registry (LISCR, LLC) since 1999.
Mr. Cooper also worked as Executive Consultant to the Liberian International Ship and Corporate Registry (“LISCR”) from 1999 to 2023. Educated in Liberia, St. Gallen, Switzerland, and the United States, he is a seasoned veteran in the international arena and is comfortable dealing with people from all nationalities and cultures. Mr. Cooper was awarded Knight Grand Commander in 1989 and Knight Grand Band Order of the Star of Africa in 2019 for his devoted service to Liberia, Humanity, and World Commerce. His greatest passion is his work for the conservation of the planet, and he is excited that the world is now focused on the environmental impact and mitigation of air pollution from greenhouse gas emissions.
Mr. Cooper is currently Chairman of the Episcopal Church of Liberia Development Society and of Trinity Agro Corporation. He is also a member National Maritime Historical Society USA and President of Maritime Cooper Associates. He is a former Commissioner of Maritime Affairs of Liberia.
